Vermillion River Whitewater Rafting

Are you ready for adventure? Join us for a whitewater rafting trip down the Vermillion River near Starved Rock. We'll be heading down nine and a half miles of river, complete with fourteen Class I-III rapids!

Registration covers transportation, boat rentals, and a boxed lunch from Starship Restaurant. Meet at Fox Center.

Our friends at Vermillion River Rafting recommend: While this is a beginner rafting course, it is not a guided trip down the river. If you have previous paddling experience, that will be beneficial for your rafting journey. River footwear should have an ankle/heel strap – water shoes or an older pair of tennis shoes are ideal; flip flops and crocs are not recommended. Glasses may get jostled off, so please wear a glasses strap or retainer if you want to keep them on your head. Stay hydrated and please wear your sunscreen!

The Park District recommends: Please pack your water bottle, and dress appropriately for the water. We will be going into the river – while lifejackets and helmets are provided, knowing how to swim is important for your own safety.
