Youth Committee

Youth Committee at the CRC

A new drop-in program is coming to the Community Recreation Center for Oak Park residents grades 6th-12th. A teen-led program of 12 teens can create, develop, and lead programs for their peers. These youth will also be involved in managing a program budget and learning how to allocate funds for instructors and supplies.

The Youth Committee will have the opportunity to lead community service projects building their capacity for self-reliance, self-sacrifice, social responsibility, teamwork, and mentorship; which will give youth more control of their future and a sense of belonging and connection. The goal of the program is to provide a safe welcoming space for teens to have recreational opportunities as well as social and emotional support.
