Gymnastics FAQs

For students who are not moving up to the next class level, you will be emailed a link to register for your same class again, on the same day at the same time, on the morning of March 2. You will have one week to register through this link, as it will close on March 9.

From March 9-15, gymnastics staff will determine placement for students who are moving up as well as those who have requested to change to a different class time. Students who are moving up will have received a form to fill out and instructions.

Registration for all unclaimed class slots will open to Oak Park residents on March 16, then to everyone on March 23.

If the student is in the classes for ages 2-6, moving up is based solely on their birthdate.

Students in the 6+ classes (except tumbling) will have their skills evaluated by their coaches during class from February 12 to 25. After that, students will receive an evaluation sheet showing their prowess at different skills and their total score; they will need to reach certain score levels to move up.

If your student is moving up, before registration begins you will be given a form to fill out with your preferred days and times for the new class, as well as instructions on what you need to do to ensure a smooth registration.

No. There is no priority registration for Mini Sessions; each Mini Session is strictly first come, first served. They also do not grant priority for the full session.

Email gymnastics@pdop.org or contact GRC management to discuss your student and potentially have them evaluated. Remember that different gymnastics programs may handle things differently! You will not be able to register for higher level classes without staff approval.

Gymnastics does not offer make-up classes, but we can offer you a voucher code for a free registration to Preschool Playtime or Open Gym. Email gymnastics@pdop.org with the name of your student, which class they are in including day and time, and which date(s) of class they missed. Please request your voucher code only after the missed class.
