History

Acquired in 1929, the park was originally called New South Park, or Park #9, but was subsequently named after the adjacent street.

In 2017, the tennis courts were relined for pickleball and a new playground was installed. Additionally, a raingarden and toddler roll/sled hills were created. These improvements were funded by an Illinois Department of Natural Resources $400,000 grant and funds from the Park District’s Capital Improvement Plan.
