June is national perennial gardening month, and our greenhouses are bursting with our top perennial choices for your gardens! Shop the Oak Park Conservatory’s Perennial Pollinator Plant Sale and increase your garden’s biodiversity with our favorite selection of plants for your home garden, including selections of natives, native cultivars, and heirloom perennials grown locally at the Conservatory greenhouses. Order early online or shop in person!

Our experts will be on hand to answer questions on plant selection.

KidsFest

Join us for KidsFest, the popular family event sponsored by the Friends of the Oak Park Conservatory. Help us celebrate Earth Day with live raptors! Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab & Education is our featured presenter. Celebrate the wonders of our planet with activities from our partners: Trailside Museum, University of Illinois Extension, Brookfield Zoo, and the Oak Park Public Library.

Tickets are required for this free event.

Multicultural Fest

Celebrate diversity and inclusion with a day of performances, workshops, and activities showcasing cultures from around the world! Hosted in partnership with D97, the Oak Park Public Library, and OPRF High School.

Join us at Carroll Park to celebrate trees, learn from our experts about how to nurture their care, and more!

We’ll have plenty activities for all, including:

    • Tree planting
    • Tree care education from arborists and horticulturalists
    • Tool demonstrations
    • Nature-themed crafts

Community partners will also be onsite with further information and activities: Village of Oak Park Forestry Department, Forest Preserve District of Cook County, North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation District, Chicago Region Tree Initiative, West Cool Wild Ones

Doggy Egg Scramble

Bring your dog to Maple Park for the Doggy Egg Scramble. Dogs and owners will hunt through the field to find the most dog treat filled eggs. After the hunt, a special visitor will be available to take photos.

This is an on-leash event for friendly dogs and their families; children must be accompanied by an adult. No tickets required for the Doggy Scramble.
