Join us at Carroll Park to celebrate trees, learn from our experts about how to nurture their care, and more!

We’ll have plenty activities for all, including:

    • Tree planting
    • Tree care education from arborists and horticulturalists
    • Tool demonstrations
    • Nature-themed crafts

Community partners will also be onsite with further information and activities: Village of Oak Park Forestry Department, Forest Preserve District of Cook County, North Cook County Soil & Water Conservation District, Chicago Region Tree Initiative, West Cool Wild Ones

Doggy Egg Scramble

Bring your dog to Maple Park for the Doggy Egg Scramble. Dogs and owners will hunt through the field to find the most dog treat filled eggs. After the hunt, a special visitor will be available to take photos.

This is an on-leash event for friendly dogs and their families; children must be accompanied by an adult. No tickets required for the Doggy Scramble.

Bring your baskets and grab all the eggs around Maple Park! Our Bunny will be on hand for pictures, and we’ll have themed games before and after each dash. Ages 3-10

This event is free, but you must have a ticket to participate.

Guided Tour: Austin Gardens

Join us for a guided tour of Austin Gardens’ natural areas. Learn about the plants growing, the different habitats in our parks, and ways we support our pollinators. You may also learn a little history of our parks!

Tours are free, but registration is required in advance.

Cheney Mansion Community Meeting

Please join us for the Cheney Mansion Master Plan review. We will be providing an overview of work that has been completed since the development of the 2009 Master Plan, including the entrance, water fall garden, greenhouse, and patio improvements. Additionally, we will review the updated 2016 Master Plan and projects identified or underway, including the geothermal installation. Finally, we are seeking feedback on how patrons use the property to consider future improvements.
