Have a magical time with Aaron Fasel, renowned professional magician from 312 Magic! Impress your family and friends with tricks that involve cards, ropes, coins, or even mind-reading. Each child receives magic props to take home, and brand new tricks are taught each time!

Enameling June 5-26

Whether you're a beginner or have some experience, this workshop covers essential techniques, from preparing metals to applying powdered glass enamel and firing. Explore different techniques – such as cloisonné, sgraffito, and stenciling – and create your unique pieces. Guided by an experienced instructor, you’ll gain hands-on practice, learn about color layering, and create wearable art. All materials are included, so just bring your creativity!

Beyond The Walls: The Art Behind Oak Park’s Mini Murals

Join the Oak Park Area Arts Council and the Park District of Oak Park for an exclusive evening at Cheney Mansion, where you’ll meet the artists who brought these vibrant murals to life.

Some of these talented muralists will be on hand, showcasing miniature canvas versions of their large-scale works and sharing the stories behind their inspiration, vision, and artistic process. This is your chance to engage with the creators, ask questions, and gain a deeper appreciation for the artistry that brightens our community.

Enjoy delicious light bites, sip on your favorite beer, wine, or soda, and mingle with fellow art enthusiasts in an atmosphere of creativity and conversation.

The evening will culminate in an exciting raffle where you can take home one of these exclusive canvas recreations—a unique piece of Oak Park’s art scene!

$15 of your registration fee goes directly to supporting the Oak Park Area Arts Council, ensuring that public art continues to thrive in our community.  Ages 21+

 

Clay Whistle

Unleash your inner artist and explore the world of sound with this exciting ceramic class! In this hands-on workshop, you'll learn the art of crafting functional and beautiful rattles and whistles using clay. From beginner to experienced, all skill levels are welcome to join.  This course will cover several hand-building techniques, basic ceramic tools, and vocabulary.
