Bonfires and Brews – March 28 TBA

Are you interested in supporting local breweries and learning about their businesses and their passions?  Come to the patio of Cheney Mansion (or indoors if inclement weather) in September thru November and then February and March to sample what our featured brewers are pouring now.   They will have season-appropriate tastings and talk about what makes their breweries and products so great. We will have snacks to help with your tastings! Ages 21+

Sensory Sensitive Treats with the Bunny! 11:00-12:00P

The Park District of Oak Park and West Suburban Special Recreation Association welcome families with sensory sensitivities to Cheney Mansion and a visit with the Easter Bunny!  Bring your camera for your photo with the Bunny and fun crafts provided by WSSRA.  Representatives will have appropriate activities available while you wait along with yummy sweets!  All Ages!

A perfect roasted chicken with a lovely pan sauce can make you a superstar with your partner and family!  Join Carnivore in the Cheney Kitchen to make what is a core element to being a great cook! Bring along your favorite beverage to enjoy with the finished product provided by Carnivore Oak Park.  Ages 21+

Cooking Around the World — South Korea

Join Chef Tara Humphrey of Global Peel for a culinary and cultural tour around the world through food. 

In September, explore the Midwest and World’s Fair fare!  In October,  explore Vietnam including Pho Bo, nuom chac, do chua and more.. November brings the discovery of Ghana-work with seafood, make fufu, accara, jollof rice, plantains and more.  . January brings warm and comforting food from Poland.  February brings us to Mexico and let’s make mole and tamales and celebrate Mesoamerican recipes. In March, travel to South Korea and learn the comfort of Korean Barbecue, making banchun, bulgogi and of course kimchi.. Tara has planned recipes for each session, and you will enjoy the fruits of your labor in the Cheney dining room while you explore cultures. Bring along your favorite wine to sip or Tara will send suggested menu pairings. Ages 21+
