November 7: Design personalized ornaments using miniature gourds, paints, dyes, and a variety of decorative materials. Demonstrations on how to add decoupage techniques and ink dyes will be given.
November 14: Learn to use engraving tools to add texture and dimension to your ornaments. Participants will be shown how to add highlights by using gold leaf and glitter. Participants will also explore finishing techniques, including sealing their work for long-lasting display.

October 31: Create a miniature hawktail broom from pine needles and finish the series by weaving a functional whisk broom from broomcorn (sorghum).

During this two-part workshop, participants will learn traditional Appalachian broom-making techniques while creating several miniature pine needle brooms in both the turkey wing and hawktail styles. The series concludes with weaving a full-sized broomcorn whisk broom. No experience is required, and all materials are provided.
