High Ropes Course

Can we squeeze in one more adventure before school starts? You bet! This time, we’re challenging ourselves on the high ropes course at Iron Oaks! We’ll work with partners to climb through the tree canopy – 30 feet off the ground!

Pick-up location is in front of Field Center. Meet at 9:00am for pick-up. Please bring a water bottle, a nut-free lunch, and dress for the weather.

Sailing on the Tall Ship Windy

Ahoy! We're sailing on Lake Michigan the old-fashioned way!

Join the Teen Adventure Club for a hands-on discovery sail on the Tall Ship Windy, a traditional four-masted gaff topsail schooner standing at 148 feet tall! We'll be exploring how these rigged ships work and learning the basics of sailing, plus what Chicago was like when these ships were the main form of maritime transportation.

Horseback Riding at Memory Lane Stables

Saddle up, Teen Adventure Club! We're spending one of our last days of summer vacation on horseback! Join our friends at Memory Lane Stables for a equestrian adventure! No riding experience necessary!

Fox River Tubing: Teen Edition

Join us for a float down the Fox River! We're heading to the Marge Cline Whitewater course for a day of tubing fun.

Registration covers transportation and tube rentals.

Our friends at Yak Shack recommend: Please don't use temporary hair colors, as it isn't as temporary in the helmet padding. River footwear should have an ankle/heel strap, and please wear your sunscreen!

The Park District recommends: Please pack your snack, lunch and water bottle, and dress appropriately for the water. We will be going into the river – while lifejackets are provided, knowing how to swim is important for your own safety.

Kayaking at the Forest Preserves

Paddle your heart out with us at the Forest Preserves of DuPage County!

We’re taking some kayaks around the lake and enjoying a day out on the water. After, we’ll steady our sea legs by some hiking around the forest preserve. All ranges of ability are welcome, from beginners to experienced boaters.

Transportation, boat rental, and life jackets are provided. Please bring your own snack, lunch, and water bottle.

The Park District recommends: Please dress appropriately for the water. We will be going onto the lake – while lifejackets are provided, knowing how to swim is important for your own safety.
