American Sign Language for Kids (4/9-5/28/26)

**Please Note** Due to some scheduling conflicts, the dates for this program have changed. They will be taking place on Thursdays rather than Wednesdays.

Brand new this year! Join our immersive ASL course taught by native signers. This class focuses on basic signs so your kids can gain confidence in their
communication in and out of the classroom.

Our adult class is taught separately at the same time, so you can learn as a family. See the Adult Leisure and Lifestyle section for those classes.

Booked at the Park- Austin Gardens

Join us for a relaxing, community-centered partnership between the Park District of Oak Park and local bookstore, The Book Loft. This free program invites residents to slow down, unplug, and enjoy the simple pleasure of reading outdoors, spending two peaceful hours in one of the Park District’s beautiful green spaces. Bring a blanket, a snack, and settle in under the trees for quiet time surrounded by nature.

Fairies & Flowers & Me – Austin Gardens Nature Walk – 5/10/26

We’re exploring the bright and colorful today by using some faith, trust, and pixie dust! We’ll tell a story, make a craft, and put on our thinking caps in a fun science experiment about sorting.

Meeting Location: Inside Austin Gardens Environmental Education Center

Toad Abode Workshop – 5/9/26

On these hot summer days, amphibians like frogs and toads need a place to cool off! Today we’re making terracotta toad houses. They’ll provide our cold-blooded pals a place to hide from the sun, so they can relax before eating our garden pests! All materials provided.

Octopus Gardens – 5/9/26

Would you like to be under the sea? Join us for an underwater exploration into the world of "cephalopods" – octopus, squid, cuttlefish, and more! We'll explore these kooky critters using art, games, and an up-close look at animal artifacts.
