Photography Permit

A photography permit is required for any photography taking place in any Oak Park park that is commercial in nature, even if the sponsoring organization or project being worked on is for or affiliated with a non-profit, educational, or government organization. Examples of activities requiring a photography permit include:

    • Engagement or wedding photography, senior pictures, and family portraits
    • Any photography that will be used in the production of commercials, catalogs, magazines, or any other marketing materials or filming

A certificate of insurance naming the Park District as additionally insured or a deposit may be required. Additional permits may also be required by the Village of Oak Park.

Parks & Historic Homes Permit Fee: $50/hr; or $100 for annual pass to conduct multiple photoshoots. Additional costs may be incurred for services beyond normal operating schedule. Fees may vary dependent of requested location.

Oak Park Conservatory Permit Fee: $50/hr during open business hours and $100/hour during closed business hours. Annual passes are not offered at this location. Call (708) 725-2400 for times and availability.

Media/Filming Permit

A media/filming permit is required for any photography or filming taking place in any Oak Park park that is commercial in nature, even if the sponsoring organization or project being worked on is for or affiliated with a non-profit, educational, or government organization. Examples of activities requiring a Media Permit include:

    • Any filming and photography that will be used in the production of commercials, catalogs, magazines, or any other marketing materials, public service announcements, documentaries, training films, television films or series, independent films, feature films, or commercial art

A certificate of insurance naming the Park District as additionally insured is required. Additional permits may also be required by the Village of Oak Park.

Application Requirements: Media/Filming Permit Application

Permit Fee: $100+/hour; additional costs may be incurred for special requests or for services such as garbage pick-up, electricity or water usage, stage or equipment usage, or requests for services beyond normal operating schedule
