On August 12, the Park District celebrated Paul Fischer, the St. Louis Blues’ 2023 NHL Draft Pick, who began his hockey journey at the Ridgeland Ice Arena, now named the Paul Hruby Ice Arena. Attendees enjoyed an autograph session, an exclusive skate with Paul, and an engaging session featuring Paul and his family, including a Q&A and hockey skills demo. The event also offered free hockey tryouts for new players guided by PDOP coaches, fostering a day of celebration and sport.
