We are recognized among the best in the world and have earned numerous awards for our training, expertise, and skills. To earn these top honors, we train our hires to a level of excellence to position them to succeed each and every day. In addition to superior lifeguarding skills, PDOP lifeguards earn life skills that will benefit them today and long into the future.

Work-readiness skills: PDOP’s lifeguard program is a great conduit to skill development. Our guards build leadership skills, understand the value teamwork, and learn responsibility, time management, and organizational skills as well! These life-long skills will serve them in life and future employment endeavors.

Community: Our staff aren’t just lifeguards—they’re a diverse group of determined youth who all bring something unique to this job as they serve the community. They spend the summer training, working, and having fun together which very often results in lifelong friendships. They respect and support one another and work together to keep Oak Park pools open.

Hybrid position options, and advancement opportunities:  You can split your hours between lifeguarding and swim instruction if you desire! This kind of flexibility option helps to keep things interesting.

Recognition opportunities: We have intrinsic award systems to congratulate staffers who go the extra mile! Earn recognition for number of saves, audits, drills, and more!

Opportunities for Growth: We welcome our lifeguards back summer after summer as long as they are willing and able. And, what’s more? There are opportunities to growth! Our lifeguards who share our mission have the opportunity to advance through employment, taking on more responsibility and leadership roles. Join our team and enjoy the path:
