Oak Park, IL 60302
The Park District of Oak Park will be providing family friendly activities in our park for the enjoyment of residents and celebrating the Village of Oak Park.
In Scoville Park there will be a variety of activities for all ages, including: an inflatable GAGA pit, large blue blocks, model trains with the Oak Park Society of Model Engineers, and games. The GAGA pit is a great way to get some exercise and have some fun with friends. The large blue blocks can be used for building forts, playing games, or just relaxing. The model trains are a great way to learn about engineering and history. The games are a great way to test your strength, have some fun, and maybe even win a prize. So come on down to the park and enjoy all that it has to offer!
Each year on the first Sunday in June the Village sponsors A Day in Our Village, a community festival considered one of the premier community events.
A Day in Our Village provides an opportunity for current and prospective residents to discover the diversity and variety of civic, cultural, social service, business, educational and religious organizations and groups in the Village.
More than 100 Oak Park entities set up activity and information booths in Scoville Park near Lake Street and Oak park Avenue, and local restaurants sell food nearby. The Park District of Oak Park also sponsors activities for kids in Scoville Park as part of the event.
A Day in Our Village is organized and sponsored by the Village and made possible thanks to support from the A Day in Our Village volunteer committee.
