POOL PASSHOLDER INFORMATION

In the event of an unexpected closure, the pool status will be updated online in real time. Click here to check the pool status. 

Food and drink are allowed on raised decks and grass areas only. Glass containers are strictly prohibited.

Coolers are limited in size to 11x9x8 inches (lunchbox size) and may be subject to search. Patrons with oversized coolers will be asked to leave them in their vehicles.

Alcohol is not permitted and there is no smoking on Park District of Oak Park property.

In the event of a pool reaching maximum capacity, the Park District adopts a ‘one-out, one-in’ approach to allowing guests to enter.

In the event of a lightning strike within 10 miles of the facility, the pool will close for 30 minutes. With each consecutive strike, the 30-minute clock resets.

In severe weather such as hail, tornado warnings, or heavy rain, the pool will close until it is safe for patrons and staff.

The Park District uses the Perry Weather lighting and weather detection system to alert staff to inclement weather in the area. Click here to check current weather conditions. 

In the case of emergencies or lifeguard drills, the pool will be cleared.

We ask that any time patrons hear an announcement to clear the pool, they exit the water as quickly and safely as possible. If staff need to clear the pool deck, we ask you to gather your belongings and exit as quickly as possible while our staff respond to the emergency.

Parents and guardians are responsible for supervising their children. Lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules and respond to emergencies, not to supervise children. 

Non-swimmers and swimmers wearing lifejackets must have a chaperone within arm’s reach of them at all times.

Ridgeland Common Pool and Rehm Pool enforce safety breaks for the last 10 minutes of each hour of Public Swim. During these breaks, All patrons under the age of 18 must exit the pool and remain three feet from the side of the pool until the break is complete.

Guests are encouraged to use this time to touch base with their children or guardians, use the restroom, reapply sunscreen, and remain hydrated.

The Park District of Oak Park Lifeguard Team is certified through the industry-leading Jeff Ellis and Associates (E&A) Comprehensive Aquatic Risk Management Training Program. Our lifeguards are on duty to enforce rules and respond to emergencies. We ask that when they blow their whistle, even if you don’t think it’s for you, turn to look.
