Do you have a closet/attic/basement stash of family papers and keepsakes that you plan to organize some day? Bring some of your family photos and documents* to this hands-on class, where professional archivists will teach you how to store, organize and catalog your family collection. In this class, we’ll discuss what makes up a family archive, show you the road map of how to organize your collection so it’s easily accessible and start you doing the work right then.
Archivists Hilarie Pozesky and Claire Mokrauer-Madden, co-founders of Sepia Archival Management, have worked with the archives of the Chicago Public Art Group, the American Society for Surgery of the Hand and the Institute for the Study of Ancient Cultures at the University of Chicago, as well as their personal archival collections. They are both passionate about making historical documents available and findable to all.
We will have light snacks and 2 drink tickets are included in our registration. Our docent will also be on hand with family documents from Pleasant Home and tours of the home. Ages 21+
