Build-Your-Own Eclipse Box!

Get ready for the Solar Eclipse tomorrow!

Drop in any time between 6:30 and 8:30pm and our science staff will help you build a Box Viewer! You can use these in place of safety glasses to view the solar eclipse. This program is free and open to the public – registration is optional but available so you can mark your calendars!

Please bring your own cardboard box (shoebox-sized or big enough to go over your head – your choice!). All other materials provided.

These are to be used with your body facing away from the sun, not facing it. Do not look directly at the sun during a solar eclipse without proper eye protection, as it can damage your eyes and vision.
